Polarized?

The election now over and President Bush reelected by an overwhelming majority in record breaking fashion, gives most of us a feeling of relief and anticipation for a bright future. The Country, it turns out, was not so divided after all. I for one believe that the Polarization we were led to believe existed was manufactured to create division not eliminate it. The attempt, however, back-fired when the “Get Out The Vote” campaigns brought out Millions of voters who believed in God and Country and believed that George W. Bush stood strong for both.

It is important that we as Christians continue to stay strong and involved. President Bush can not do it alone and in four years he will leave the White House. Who will replace him and how can we continue to reshape America for the cause of Christ? There is an election every two years. We need to send Congressmen and Senators to Washington who will support President Bush in the short run and be there for the next President in the long run. Let’s not loosen our grip. Together we can help bring America back to God.

There is another important way we can help perpetuate truth in the World; the Press. Radio, Television, Newspapers and Magazines help shape the way we think and tends to have a very strong impact on World opinion. People, more often than not, believe what they see and read. In the last few years we have come to grips with the startling fact that the Press Bias “spins” the news to suit the writers and media management or ownership and leans more “Left” than “Right.” This has to be controlled, and we as consumers can influence change.

I heard someone say the other day that a certain newspaper was only good for the Comic Strip and the Crossword Puzzle. As far as the news was concerned they were afraid to believe a word because of the obvious bias. One way to affect a change in the Media is to use the power of your money. When people seek other sources for news and stop watching, listening or reading their propaganda it sends a strong message and these various medias will seek to change in order to get your business back.
Don’t be intimidated by politicians or the media. Christ owns the cattle on a thousand hills and that includes Capitol Hill.

“Be strong and Courageous!” What we do for Christ is all that matters in life.
