Christmas music is already being played full time by many radio stations across the country including this one. Not just Christian stations but country, rock and others have joined in. Why? Unfortunately, it has little to do with the birth of Christ. Actually, it is probably because people spend more money shopping when the sounds of Christmas fill the airwaves.
I guess that we should just enjoy the fact that many of the songs considered standards of Christmas are being played by secular radio and not concern ourselves with the motives or political ramifications. Away In A Manger, Silent Night, O Little Town of Bethlehem, The First Noel and We Three Kings of Orient Are all have clear Christian themes and to hear them on stations not normally associated with a Christian message is wonderful.
God promises that His Word will not return void. That means that regardless of the origin of His Word He can still use it to reach the lost and draw them to Him.
This Christmas season I pray will be a peaceful one in this country and for our troops serving on many fronts around the world. This world has been at war with its neighbors for most of its existence and it may remain so till the Lord brings it to its ultimate conclusion in the final battle.
Until then I pray He finds
us celebrating His birth at a time we all call Christmas.
