. . . from the Manager's Desk

He Is A God Of More Than Enough

We often attach the Goodness of God to finances, success and achievements. And often the opposite is true. We think ourselves unworthy of Gods favor when the blessings are not apparent and even question His existence when we don’t get what we want. Because someone else has more than us we think somehow we have failed and may even feel like we are being treated unfairly.

God’s blessings are not always attached to a balance sheet. Remember the story of the farmer who paid all his workers the same even though they didn’t all work the same number of hours. One came early in the day and agreed to work for a dollar. One came at noon and agreed to work for a dollar and the last one came near the end of the day and got paid the same.

What happened? The ones who worked the longest were upset that the one who worked the least got paid the same. The farmer asked, “Didn’t you all agree to work for a dollar?” They all had to agree that they did. “Then why are you upset?” The answer of course unspoken is greed and jealousy. The farmer was a generous man and chose to bless them all the same.

They were all happy and satisfied until they found out what the farmer had done. But now they felt robbed and cheated and were angry and filled with rage.

God owns it all. It is His to do with as He wills. He wants to bless us with more than we need so that we will have more than enough and some to share. He gives us opportunities, possibilities, talents, strength and creativity. He blesses us with health and happiness. He gives us children to love, sunsets to paint and music to sing. All He wants in return is our love, praise and thanksgiving. Give back to Him more than enough because He loves us more than enough.
