Hugh JarrettSunday morning announcer Hugh Jarrett, our resident celebrity has performed in many movies, hosted television and radio shows, appeared on television and emceed countless concerts. Hugh started his association with the music industry in the early 1950's in a quartet known as the Jordanaires, the backup group for Elvis Presley.

Hugh later hosted his own, national radio program in Nashville at WLAC. Then he and his lovely wife Jean came to Georgia and Atlanta's WPLO and WSB radio stations. He also hosted the variety show Rise and Shine on WXIA-TV, anchored the Financial News on Atlanta's Channel 36 and was the emcee for "Concerts in the Country" at Lanierland Country Music Park. Hugh's voice over skills have been used by major television networks, and for years has been the voice of Goldkist.

The 1999 winter issue of the North Georgia Journal featured Victory 91.5's Hugh Jarrett on it's cover with the headline and story inside relating to: "Singing Back-Up for the King of Rock & Roll." In the feature story the interviewer notes that "when one talks to him at his dining room table, the family Bible, obviously read and studied, remains where he left it." Hugh is now back behind the microphone for "The" King, Jesus.

Hugh was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame September 26, 2004.
