. . . from the Manager's Desk

"Atlanta Christian Radio"

Last month we sent out a Listener Survey. The surveys are pouring in every day and next month we will print the detailed results. It is our desire to serve the needs of our listeners so feed back is very important. We also receive hundreds of letters and e-mails that give us daily input as to what we are doing right or wrong and to ways we can improve or be more in tune to your needs. Obviously, we can not please everyone, but an attempt at serving the majority has always been a high priority. That is not necessarily true anymore.

I’m sure you are aware that the Atlanta area is bathed in Christian radio. It is a tremendous blessing to the listeners served by these stations to have a choice and not be forced to tune in with no other alternative. Because there is a choice it is also possible for stations to focus on a particular type and style of programming offering even more choices than ever before to Atlanta and North Georgia listeners.

The surveys, letters, and e-mails we have received often have a similar theme; Ministry. WWEV is a ministry and our bottom line is not measured in dollars and cents. It takes money to pay the bills and keep us on the air but it is not our measure of success. Changed hearts, mended families and closer relationships with our Creator are a better measurement. Currently, you may have noticed the music on Victory 91.5 features more Praise and Worship. This is because it is the type and style music that many indicate as their favorite and because it is a good style choice for a Radio Ministry.

In the past we have tried to play everybody’s favorite from Southern Gospel to Alternative Christian Rock. As you can imagine it is very difficult to be that diverse. In the future our music can better be categorized as Light Adult Contemporary and Praise & Worship. Light AC is more Inspirational. Most Contemporary artists offer both an inspirational selection and a heavier Rock choice from the same album. Along with more Ministry focused Music we will continue with our teaching ministries that offer help and hope on a daily basis. Back Tracks and Powersource will continue as usual on Saturday night. Our Prime Time teaching segments feature some of the best Pastors and Teachers of our day. We also will continue with our presentation of Church and Ministry events like the Star Light Crusade where hundreds of souls were brought to Christ.

As in the past we will play only music that is clearly Christian. “Clearly Christian” means that the lyrics have an obvious Christian message and the group or soloist has demonstrated a desire to minister to the body of Christ.
A word of caution; with so much Praise and Worship Music on the air you should be extra careful when driving. Be sure you have at least one hand on the wheel at all times.
