Fall Sharathon Share In The Glory

God works through people. He uses all of us to accomplish His work. He refers to us as a body made up of many parts accomplishing different parts of the same job but all working together. He allows us to "Share in the Glory" of each accomplishment.

We “Share in the Glory” of the work of salvation through our personal acceptance of His saving grace and by our efforts to lead others to that same knowledge. He allows us to “Share in the Glory” when we pray for one another calling on God on behalf of someone else. We “Share in the Glory” when we pay our tithes each Sunday at church. All our tithes work together to offset the cost of the many financial needs of the church and its various ministry activities. When we give of our finances, resources, and time we are a part of the work as much as if we were present at the point of contact.

We are heirs it says in Romans 8:17, co heirs with Christ and when we suffer for His sake that too allows us to “Share in His Glory.”

II Thessalonians 2: 13 & 14 says “...from the beginning He chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14. He called you to this through our gospel that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The elders, shepherds, and overseers will “Share in the Glory” according to 1 Peter 5. People called to specific levels of leadership, anointed, called, and prepared for a lifetime of service will “Share in the Glory.”
From the most "lowly" Christian to the highest ranking positions in ministry each will “Share in the Glory” equally.

What a wonderful theme for this year’s Fall Sharathon. WWEV ministers to the body of Christ; all denominations at one time under the blanketing power of a single radio signal. So many of you share with this ministry through prayer, volunteering and a donation of resources throughout the year. "Sharing in the Glory" of Christ on Christian radio reaches thousands of people who need the Lord and we thank you for your efforts in this regard.

Be praying for us as we prepare for another year. We need your help to accomplish the task before us. Our Fall Sharathon goal is $450,000.00. October 6, 7, 8 you will be asked to call in and renew your pledge or make a new one. You may not be the one who shares Jesus everyday on this station, but your support gives you a share in the Glory for everything accomplished.

Three Little Words

The month of February is set aside as the month to declare your love to friends, family, and of course sweethearts. School children exchange “Be My Valentine” cards with classmates each year. Do you remember those little packages of valentines and envelopes? Did you go through them when you were in grammar school and find the really good ones and make sure only certain special friends would get them? I guess most of us did. Even young children find Valentines Day a special time.

I remember getting valentine cards from my children which were handmade at school with glitter and glue that simply said “I Love You Daddy” and “I Love You Mother.” No sweeter words can ever be spoken or written than those three little words. And the love we feel for our children can hardly be expressed any better.

June the 8th 1999 I became a Grandfather when my little grandson Taylor was born. Just the other day, January 7th my little granddaughter Bailey was born. In the short span of 7 months I went from Jamey and Melody’s Daddy to Taylor and Bailey’s Granddaddy. I cannot find the words to express the love I have for this precious duo. I make up songs and play the guitar and sing to them. I hold them and kiss them till all their sugar is gone and still I can’t find the words. I just tell them over and over that I love them.

Love expressed but not shown however, is empty and powerless. Scripture teaches that you will know a Christian by their love. In this rendering, love is a verb. It is an action prompted by a reaction of the heart. An embrace is a physical response to the love we feel for someone. In the story of the “Good Samaritan” we find a man laying by the side of the road having been beaten and robbed. People passed by and felt pity for the man but made no attempt to help. A Samaritan stopped and lifted him up, tended his wounds, carried him to safety and took care of him until he was well. Then, before the injured man went on his way the Samaritan gave him money to help him get a fresh start. Jesus told this story in Luke 10 and then said for us to go and do likewise.

If you really love someone you will not only tell them but they will know it because you act like you love them. I cannot let a day pass without seeing my grandbabies. I have to see them and hold them and love on them everyday possible. I feel badly for Grandparents who live too far away to enjoy their grandchildren the way I do. It must hurt them deeply to be far away from them.

Make this month an excuse to let everyone you love know it. A card is nice, but a hug and kiss is better. I have never cared much for cards that contain someone else’s words. If you give a card, add a handwritten message. Tell them how you feel and then show them by your actions that you mean it. If you can’t see them in person, dial 10-10 something or other and tell them.

When you see someone in need, give them more than pity. A kind word and a gentle touch can do more than you know. Jesus said that when you do good things for people in need He will honor you as if you had done it for Him personally.
