Chaos creates
an overwhelming desire for order much like the fear of war drives
us toward peace. It also must drive us to our knees. The chaos
and fear experienced in recent weeks has taken its toll on all
of us. Out of that chaos has come a “United States”
more united than ever. A cease-fire ordered in the Middle East
between Israel and Palestine created a quiet before an eminent
storm of War promised by the United States. Target terrorism!
The Flag paints our country in rivers of red white and blue. Patriotism swells and pride beams a smile that all can see. Prayer is not only acceptable in public places now; it is ordered by our President. Why?
It is because a cowardly enemy sneaked into our house and took the lives of our family. For some it was close family for others strangers, but family none the less. The day they died will ever be etched in the memories of all.
I was on the air at the time. I heard the news ten minutes after it happened from a USA News Anchor. It was reported as a tragic accident. A few minutes later a second plane crashed into building two of the World Trade Center. It was no accident. It was a deliberate attack by terrorists.
This dreadful act brought us together. Instead of fighting each other, we are united to stand against this common enemy that killed nearly 6,000 innocent unsuspecting people. It's like being shot in the back by a coward too scared to face you and too mean to care. The only death toll that comes close to this is the death toll of the unborn that exceeds 20,000 each week. Staggering isn’t it?
We must win this war against terrorism; all terrorism. We need God! As we cry out to Him for help in this dark hour, I know His reply because I know His word. God hears the cry of His people. A person who dies without Him is sure to hear the dreadful words: “I never knew you.” So, in order to be heard we must be known, and to be known we must be saved.
We need a revival of mass proportions. Revival will not only help us in our fight against international terrorism; it will also return God to His rightful place in America. Then He will hear our petitions and heal our land. Believers are ready for renewal and the lost are seeking God.
